‘Round the World Wednesday – Mexico

Mexico Pavilion

When you leave Future World and enter The World Showcase, if you go left, the Mexico pavilion is the first one you will run into. You will know you are in Mexico by the Mayan pyramid (or the margaritas in everyone’s hands). I think entering the pyramid is one of the most immersive experiences in all of Walt Disney World. You truly feel like you are in Mexico when you step inside

Rides and Attractions

Mexican folk art on display.

There are few rides in the World Showcase but there is one in Mexico! The Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros takes passengers on a boat ride through Mexico accompanied by Donald and friends. In my opinion, this ride could use some updates (Coco anyone?!?). However, there is rarely a wait and it is a good break from the heat.

There is also a Mexican Folk Art exhibit in this pavilion. This is the kind of thing that my mom would make me visit, especially if we were missing school for our vacation!

Dining

Lime Cucumber Margarita from Choza de Margarita

There are plenty of dining options in Mexico. It can be a bit confusing because all of the restaurant names are pretty similar. However, they all offer something different.

For lunch or dinner, you can dine inside the pyramid at San Angel Inn Resturante. This is a table service restaurant featuring – you guessed it – Mexican cuisine!

La Hacienda de San Angel, open for dinner, is another table service restaurant in Mexico. Check in is outside of the pyramid, across the walkway. For all the tequila lovers out there, you can do a tequila flight to compliment your meal. If you can score the right reservation and a table near the window, this is a great place to watch Illuminations (while it lasts).

The quick service option in Mexico is La Cantina de San Angel. This is located near La Hacienda de San Angel but is all outside seating.

To wet your whistle, you can visit Choza de Margarita (I recommend the Lime Cucumber Margarita) or La Cava del Tequila.

Characters

You can usually find Donald Duck in his festive Mexican attire right outside of the Pyramid. I still have my fingers crossed for a Coco meet and greet at some point but for right now, I am happy with Donald.

I have been to Walt Disney World countless times but my love for the Most Magical Place on Earth was renewed the first time I took my son. It is incredible to see the magic through his eyes. As an Annual Passholder family, we visit as often as we can! As much as I love visiting Walt Disney World, I enjoy the planning almost as much. As a Travel Planner, I love helping people prepare for and plan their next magical, enchanted vacation!
