Party Time

I realize I may be a little behind since Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party is now going on at The Magic Kingdom. Well, I went to Mickeys Not so Scary Halloween party last month, which is a Special Event Tickets.  I had a blast and I wanted to post suggestions on what to expect, and how to prepare for these parties. Walt Disney World can be overwhelming if you do not have a plan. For those of you who have never been to the Magic Kingdom, a two day ticket may be necessary. You can always go once with a base or park hopper ticket, and then another day for a special event. I strongly recommend this, especially if you have young children..

What are your Expectations?

Everybody has different expectations of what they want their Disney vacation to be like. Some people are all about the rides, while others like character meet and greets. Some people or all about viewing the sites and catching a few shows and parades. To be able to do everything that the party has to offer I would recommend doing the rides before the party officially begins. I would then go wait in line for Jack and Sally at 5:30. You will have to wait for an hour and a half but if you wait and go later it could be a 2-4 hour wait.

Always attend these events with friends. It makes the experience more enjoyable!

What is a Special Event Ticket?

A Special Event Ticket is one in which you can not enter with a base or park hopper ticket. A base ticket is a ticket in which you can only enter one park per day and a park hopper is a ticket in which you can go to as many parks in a day as you wish. For one of these events a special ticket is needed to enter. These parties only take place on select evenings in which they close the park around 7:00, which is when the party officially starts.Guests attending can arrive as early as 4:00, and will be given a band. This band is important because without it one can not do any of the rides, meet and greets, or buy merchandise which  can only be found at these events.

Why to go to Mickeys Not So Scary?

At Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party they have characters that you can not meet anywhere else. The rare characters that can be found are Jack Skellington and the 7 Dwarves. These lines can be very long but there are ways to avoid the wait. I highly recommend getting in line for Jack and Sally two hours before the party begins. It may seem ridiculous to wait this long but if you do not do this your wait could be as long as four hours. The good news is only one of the members of your party has to wait, so you can take turns. Another suggestion is going to these meet and greets when the party is almost over and everyone else is leaving. My friends and I went at 11:50 and there was no wait at all which was amazing!

Why planning is important?

Planning for these events ahead of time is important otherwise you will not get as much accomplished. One ways to plan is to decide what you want to do first. What are your top priorities? Which one of the parades and shows do you want to attend, because they have several throughout the evening. You also want to catch the Boo To You Halloween parade. This parade is better in Frontierland sense everyone will be on Main Street USA.

Best time to Trick or Treat

The best time to get candy is later in the evening. First of all, you do not have to carry around heavy bags all night. When you wait until later in the evening Cast Members are also trying to get rid of candy; so they will give you handfuls.

Most important tip!

The best advice I can give whether you attend the Mickeys Not so Scary Halloween Party, or Mickeys Very Merry Christmas party is just to go and have a good time. Do not have expectations that are too high because you may not get everything done. One thing is certain though, you will have a wonderful time!
