Let’s face it. Disney World has some really great resorts! But, one that we come back to quite often is Disney’s Pop Century Resort. Why? It’s so GROOVY!!
Nostalgia
Pop Century Resort celebrates the culture of 1950’s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. From the decorations around the resort, to the themed foods, and classic tunes playing in the background, everyone is sure to feel some nostalgia. Larger than life Disney characters, yo-yos, cans of playdoh, Mr. and Mrs, Potato Head…well, I can’t give it all away. 😉
Location and Convenience
Another reason we love Pop Century is it’s location and convenience of transportation. The resort is located pretty central to all the Disney Parks. It’s just a 10-15 minute drive! Pop Century is the largest resort, so Disney makes sure to have plenty of buses dedicated to it. There is only one central bus stop in the resort as well, which gets you to your destination faster. Don’t want to hop in the car or take Disney’s buses? Now you will be able to ride on Disney’s brand new Sklyliner gondolas! They will transport you to Hollywood Studios and Epcot! Want to try the food or shop at a different resort? The Skyliner will take you to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Riviera Resort. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is just a short walk across Hour Glass Lake. If you time your walk just right, you can catch the fireworks at Hollywood Studios!
Value
Pop Century has newly refurbished rooms with queen beds, one of which is a murphy bed that converts into a table. There is a lot of storage space, including a place under your bed for your suitcase. Multiple cubbies in the bathroom leave a space for everyone. It gets better…there is also a mini fridge and a coffee maker!! We even received special Mickey Mouse coffee on our last trip! A value resort, like Pop Century, can save you hundreds of dollars over other resorts so that you can spend more of your money on souvenires, and other fun things, or just keep it in your pocket! Room upgrades, plus the low cost, make this a great value over other resorts.
Activities for Kids
I love that there is plenty of things at Pop Century Resort to keep kids busy. Three heated swimming pools, an arcade, movies under the stars, dance parties…the fun just keeps going! If walking around the parks all day doesn’t wear you out, you and your kids can jog the one mile trail around Hour Glass Lake. Make sure you look out for fish and HUGE turtles!
More Perks
Staying at a Disney Resort allows you to book all those coveted fastpasses at 60 days out. Plus, you can enjoy more time in the parks with Disney’s Extra Magic Hours that are reserved just for resort guests. Getting to and from Orlando airport is easy with Disney’s complimentary Magic Express and luggage handling services.
So..what’s the bottom line here? If you are looking for a totally rad themed resort that is great on the budget without losing quality, Pop Century is a great choice – fer shure!
