Nobody likes to wait in a long ride queue. However, unless you are willing to pay a lot of money for a VIP tour (and if you are, please contact me and I can help you plan that out!), waiting in line at Walt Disney World is nearly guaranteed. Thankfully, waiting for these rides isn’t too bad thanks to the interactive and/or interesting queues. Here is my personal opinion of the best ride queues in each of the 4 parks.
Magic Kingdom – The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
With the Fantasyland renovation and expansion in Magic Kingdom Park, we saw a lot of great updates to line queues. One of the best is The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. This queue leaves my son wanting to play instead of riding the ride! It starts off with a walk through Pooh’s house that leads your adventurer to a vegetable garden with drums, a hide-and-seek gopher game, crawl space, and more. While waiting in line, guests can also lead some bees to their hive and discover fun scenes under the overflowing honey.
Runner Up – Nearly every other ride in Fantasyland
Hollywood Studios – Toy Story Land
Although the queues aren’t interactive, I think the rides of Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios are incredible. Maybe it’s because I am like totally a 90’s kid and I absolutely love the Toy Story series, but I could hang out in the land all day just taking in the details. From Toy Story characters to classic game pieces and toys, there is so much to take in at Toy Story Land. It is so much fun to become immersed in the details in the queues of Slinky Dog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers, and Toy Story Mania.
Runner Up – Tower of Terror
Animal Kingdom – Kali River Rapids
Stepping in line at Kali River Rapids feels like stepping into Indian temple (or at least I assume – I haven’t actually been to India). The rooms are so intricately detailed and beautiful that you forget that you are about to get soaked on this exciting river raft journey.
Runner Up – Avatar – Flight of Passage
Epcot – Test Track
If there is any park that could use some updated ride queues, it’s Epcot. However, the wait for Test Track is pretty cool. While waiting in line, guests design the virtual concept vehicle that they will eventually use on the test track. There is even a chance to perfect your car in hands-on exhibits after the ride. The interactive lab is a great place to wait in the air condition especially if you have little ones who aren’t tall enough to ride because they can still test out the interactive exhibits.
Runner Up – The Seas Pavilion
What do you think? Do you have a favorite queue that I didn’t mention?
