When I go to Disney I am always looking for souvenirs that don’t break the bank. Press pennies are just that, they make great souvenirs. They are inexpensive and also fun to create. There are actually three types of press machines. the first type is the pressed penny and its cost is 2 quarters plus the penny equaling $.51. The second type of machine is the pressed quarter machine, which will cost you 4 quarters and the quarter your pressing totaling to $1.25. The third machine which they only have a few of is the dime machine. This machine takes 3 quarters and one dime giving you a grand total of $.85
How to store your pressed pennies
Now that you pressed the pennies your probably saying now what? Now you can purchase a Disney World press penny books at any Disney retailers starting at about $14.00. This is one of the ways you can keep your press pennies all in one place. My kids love to add the press pennies to their books and put them in order by park . Maybe you rather create a photo frames with your pressed pennies or find other ways, on Pinterest to show off your new souvenirs.
Best type of pennies to use
The best type of pennies to use are pennies that have been produced prior to 1982. I know, I know your going to say but Laurie I want to use the shiny pennies that were made after 1982. You can but anything after 1982 will have zinc in them which may cause silver streaking when pressed. If you use older pennies you can try cleaning them with vinegar before you go. Make sure you save all those mini M&M containers as they make great holders, for your unpressed coins.
Now finding where the press pennies machines are located is somewhat of an Easter egg hunt. They are located throughout Disney Parks, Disney Springs, the Resort, water parks and mini golfing. I will help you out by showing you where you can find these machines throughout the four parks.
