Breathtaking is the best word I can use to describe Iceland. For as many pictures as I had seen before my trip, a picture just can’t capture the beauty of the country. I loved seeing the glaciers atop the mountains behind me, while looking at the vast ocean in front of me. And guess what!? There were horses and sheep at the beach! Seals too!!
Iceland is a great place to visit for those who love to go on adventures. You can drive right up to many of Iceland’s beautiful attractions, or just spend days hiking the mountains and exploring the mountain tops, beaches, volcanos, and all sorts of hidden gems.
One of our explorations brought us to Thingvellir National Park. Game of Thrones was filmed here! There are actually several locations around Iceland that have been used in the tv show.
Unfortunately, time did not allow for as much adventuring as I would have liked. I was only able to see the western parts of Iceland, so I definately plan to go back! Next time will be to see the northern lights. That would be amazing to see!
